Sisters in Zion

As sisters, we traveled to Zion for the Relief Society General Meeting held in the Conference Center. The grounds were beautiful with flowers and the day was sunny and warm.

We enjoyed the famous Lion House rolls and honey butter before the broadcast.

It was a privilege to be in the presence of the prophet and feel the special spirit of Relief Society and temple square. For a brief moment, we were Sisters in Zion.

Biker Mom

Thought I might relieve a little pre-surgery anxiety with a ride with my favorite biker dude.

Had a wonderful time feeling the sun and wind in my face and hearing the roar of the Harley.

Thanks Jim for a great ride! You're the greatest!

New Moon

Finished New Moon last night. Trying to get caught up with laundry, grocery shopping, cleaning and cooking before I start Eclipse. I love the series. Be ready for a e-book club soon!

We Labored on Labor Day

Grandma and Bonka went blackberry picking on Labor Day morning. Sporting the "blackberry shirt" and looking a little "homeless" , we dive into the patch with milk jugs belted around our waists and heavy gloves on the left hand.

Bonka used his clippers to clip away the briars so we could go deep into the patch.

This was the best picking ever! We really had to work for them, burrowing into the briars, but despite thorns, bees, skunks and fire ants our hands are stained with the fruits of our labors and our buckets are full!

After finishing freezing our blackberries, Bonka and I got busy canning the peaches. We ate tons of fresh (yummy) and got 28 quarts canned. Our shelves and freezer are filling up. Hurray!!
